Data updates and methodology
When were the numbers checked, which periods do they cover and what is a model? This overview distinguishes website updates from new statistical releases.
Prepared and sources checked on 24 October 2026 · Independent educational website
The website uses manually verified snapshots
Data are not downloaded automatically on every visit. The counter changes every second, but its pace is a model based on the change in annual balances for 2024–2025. A moving number does not mean new ministry data have just arrived.
The website's checking date is not automatically the source's latest publication date. We disclose the scope of the snapshots used here; we do not claim that each is the latest available release.
| Data block | Period / release | Processing |

| European comparison | 2025; April 2026 notification | Fixed snapshot, not automatically the latest revision |
| Bondholders | End-2025; Figure 29 of the Ministry of Finance report | Added 24 Oct 2026; a defined group of issues |
| Budget | 2025 actuals; workbook C, version v01 | Added 24 Oct 2026, expenditure rounded |
| Price adjustment | December CPI 2022–2025; December 2025 prices | Own calculation, added 24 Oct 2026 |

How to recognise a revision
A new release may revise the previous year, GDP or institutional classifications. Between releases the debt-to-GDP ratio may therefore fall without the government having just repaid debt. Compare the same indicator, period and release.
Future data changes should record the old and new source, period, reason and impact. We do not yet have a complete archive of past data versions; this page cannot reconstruct every official revision.
Website change log
- : verification of the original data snapshot and counter methodology.
- : educational guides added, together with 2025 bondholder and budget figures and CPI-based adjustments. This does not announce a new Ministry of Finance or statistical office revision.
New educational tables do not automatically replace the main counter or European chart data. Each block has its own source and period.
